Indian Rosewood
Trade in Brazilian Rosewood is now illegal and Indian Rosewood has taken over as the general wood of choice for classical backs and sides.

Much of the Indian Rosewood currently available is plantation grown and lacks the beauty of the natural grown upland wood.

Fortunately, I have been able to obtain the stock of a retiring luthier, and so have a good quantity of top quality, dark coloured sets - mostly over twenty-five years old.

Other Woods
There are many woods other than Rosewood which are known to make excellent guitars. Good supplies are available in the UK of locally grown Walnut, Maple, Lacewood and Yew.

I have stocks of all the above, plus some sets of American Black Walnut from a special tree felled in Kew Gardens.

Click on Woods in the top menu to view some of the sets currently available.
