The fretwire I use as standard is Jascar Evo Gold. This is made from a copper alloy used in the optical industry and contains no nickel - it therefore meets the”nickel free” European standard. It is harder than standard nickel/silver wire, but softer than stainless steel wires. The wire is a pale gold colour all the way through, which it retains when the frets are dressed.

This is a smooth, hard-wearing, and attractive fretwire, which I believe adds considerably to the aesthetics of each guitar.

For traditionalists, standard nickel/silver fretwire is a no cost option.
