Fan Bracing
As the name implies, the braces are laid out in the shape of a fan, generally with between five and nine individual braces.

Every top has different properties, and so the precise dimensions and layout of the fans in my guitars will vary between instruments.

This is the 'traditional' style of bracing used by makers since it was introduced in the early 19th century by Antonio de Torres.

Lattice Bracing*
The lattice in my guitars is made wholly from spruce. The aim being to obtain a bit more volume and balance across the strings, without losing too much of the essential sound of the Spanish guitar.

*the term 'lattice bracing' as popularly used, refers to guitars with ultra-thin tops, often using synthetic materials. This type of instrument was pioneered by the Australian maker Greg Smallmann.
